Why Going With the First Thing That Pops In Your Head is a Bad Idea

People often say; go with the first thing that pops in your head… they believe that’s intuition, but it can actually be a bad thing to do. Why? Because some people’s thinking minds are very chatty, always making comments and noise.

But sometimes it is your intuition and sometimes it’s not. So how can you tell the difference?

What’s key here are the characteristics of intuition. The thinking mind is very different from your intuitive mind when it gives you an intuition thought. Thinking mind thoughts are very wordy and can be judgmental. Intuitive mind thoughts are not wordy and never judgmental.

So if you have a pop up thought and wonder if it is intuition or your thinking mind thoughts, you can check in with yourself and your state of mind. Are you anxious? Are you angry? Or are you calm and neutral? If you are highly emotional and your thought is too, it’s unlikely that first thought is intuition.

Was the thought neutral and void of emotion? How are you feeling? Are you sad and doubtful? Was the thought disparaging? Intuition thoughts are neutral and have no emotion, and they will never put you or someone else down.

To get to information out of your intuitive mind you need to be calm and your first thought should be calm.

So, when you think you should go with the first thing that pops in your head, check in and see what state of mind you’re in and what the thought was like. That can give you a clue as to whether it truly is intuition or not.
